Nora
Preston, President/Founder of Wildlife Carers Group Inc., began
rehabilitating wildlife in the early 1980's, and was also very
active with COG (Canberra Ornithologists Group), being acknowledged
in the Canberra Garden Birds Book for her input, including bird
banding.
In
1990 she commenced her studies in Animal Science.
In
2004 Nora set her sights to start up another wildlife group
in Canberra, to promote the general welfare and continued survival
of native fauna and flora as an essential element of the environment,
to specifically undertake the specialised care necessary for
the rehabilitation of all sick, injured, orphaned native wildlife,
to promote public awareness of the need to conserve existing
wildlife species, and an understanding of their particular habitat
and feeding requirements, and so, the Wildlife Carers Group
Inc. was born, with the Rehabilitation Carers License being
issued in August 2005 to the Group.
