A
diverse background of employment and life experience has cultured Rob's view on
life. From a technical role in cartography to a motocross champion and environmental
enthusiast he views the world through multiple lenses. Rob
has been involved with Wildlife Carers
Australia, WA Seabird Rescue and the WA Naturalists Club. He is also involved
in seagrass monitoring where he has donated the use of his boat as well as water
safety experience. He has installed nesting boxes for the Little Penguins on Penguin
Island in WA. Rob's
interest in photography started with his first "Box Brownie" in the early 60's
and has matured with technology to now sport a top range digital camera. Through
this new lens his passion for nature photography has grown and developed.
With Rob's transition into retirement from full time employment at TAFE he is
looking forward to expanding his skill and interest in photography, specialising
in wildlife shots. With Penguin Island and the ocean at his front door he has
already donated many of his local images to support the promotion of environmental
services. Rob's
favourite animals are the seabirds which abound in the surrounding area, especially
the pelicans. He has rescued several of these and returned them to the sea having
removed fishing hooks etc. Rob's
photos can be purchased direct from him for the ideal gift for a nature lover.
