The
Wildlife
Preservation Society of Australia recently presented their
conservation awards for 2006, at Parliament House in Sydney.
Linda
is incredibly proud to announce that she was the the 2006 Runner
Up for the prestigious Serventy Conservation Medal for her wildlife
education lectures, Fauna
First Aid, and for freely sharing wildlife resources to
all who need them on Fourth Crossing Wildlife.
The
Serventy Conservation Medal for 2006 was awarded to Lindsay Smith
of SOSSA for his dedication and hard work on albatross. The Community
Conservation Award was awarded to Friends of the Koala. Congratulations
to both!
The
awards were presented at the WPSA annual 98th luncheon, and it
was a great day attended by many wildlife enthusiasts including
Bob Debus, Minister for the Environment (who presented the conservation
awards), Peter Cundal of Gardening Australia (ABC television series),
National Parks and Wildlife Service, Friends of National Parks,
Australian Seabird Rescue and many more.
