The
Wildlife Preservation Society
of Australia recently presented their conservation awards for 2006, at
Parliament House in Sydney. Linda
is incredibly proud to announce that she was the the 2006 Runner Up for the prestigious
Serventy Conservation Medal for her wildlife education lectures, Fauna
First Aid, and for freely sharing wildlife resources to all who need them
on Fourth Crossing Wildlife. The
Serventy Conservation Medal for 2006 was awarded to Lindsay Smith of SOSSA for
his dedication and hard work on albatross. The Community Conservation Award was
awarded to Friends of the Koala. Congratulations to both! The
awards were presented at the WPSA annual 98th luncheon, and it was a great day
attended by many wildlife enthusiasts including Bob Debus, Minister for the Environment
(who presented the conservation awards), Peter Cundal of Gardening Australia (ABC
television series), National Parks and Wildlife Service, Friends of National Parks,
Australian Seabird Rescue and many more. Read
