Tim
graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Veterinary
Science in 1996. He spent a few years in mixed veterinary practice
before starting at Werribee Open Range Zoo as their first full
time veterinarian. Tim left WORZ in early 2002 and worked as
a locum in a number of zoos including Taronga and Healesville
Sanctuary for several months before taking up a veterinary position
at Western Plains Zoo.
Earlier
this year Tim moved to the Australian Wildlife Hospital at Beerwah
where he manages the veterinary services to Australia Zoo and
does occasional work with wildlife admissions.
Tim
gained membership to the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists
by examination in the field of zoo animal medicine in 2001.
His job has provided him with numerous opportunities to work
with free-ranging wildlife both here in Australia and internationally
including Tasmanian Devils and Northern Hairy-Nosed Wombats.
Tim
has a particular interest in macropod diseases.
